Requisition Number: MS-11194 Area of Interest: Accounting - Audit Organization: Distribution Center Brand/Division: Mississippi Position Type: Full-time JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Analyst is responsible for financial reporting for a segment of the global supply chain. Among their responsibilities, the Financial Analyst will manage monthly reporting, ad hoc analysis, financial planning and process improvement. * Develop a thorough understanding of the distribution operations and work directly with internal and external partners to assure timely auditing, coding, and payment of DC invoices * Prepare distribution related journal entries on a monthly basis * Own region monthly accrual process, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis processes * Communicate the drivers costs variances and build forecast/budget bridges * Prepare concise and insightful summary analysis for Senior Management * Propose and implement improvements to month end procedures, day-to-day job responsibilities and other functions * Provide ad hoc analysis for Supply Chain teams as requested * Special projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Finance, economics, supply chain or related degree * 2+ years experience in an accounting/finance role * Prior experience budgeting and forecasting * Experience with process improvement implementation * Must be systems savvy. Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel (v-look-ups, sumifs, massive spreadsheets) Access and multi-dimensional data reporting tools * Self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong intellectual curiosity * Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to effectively address issues in collaboration with others as appropriate * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills * Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * MBA or equivalent years of experience * Prior experience in Supply Chain industry * Experience with Hyperion Essbase * Experience with SQL * Experience with Lawson accounting software * Experience with PKMS * Knowledge of large corporate accounting progr This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. *LI-MV Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
