JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Part Time Guest Services Representative
Pay: $12.00/hour
Hours: Vary regularly. Availability to work evenings and weekends is essential. Availability Friday and Saturday evenings is especially important.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works under the direction of the Operations Supervisor/Lichterman Nature Center (LNC) and in conjunction with the Special Events Coordinator, to receive visitors and coordinate facility rentals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to ticketing, receiving volunteers, checking in school groups, admitting General Services and other service providers, answering telephones, distributing IP Family Discovery Backpacks, overseeing rental set-ups, and working daytime rental events.
Coordinates with caterers, entertainment groups, rental companies, and other vendors to ensure that resources are available for events; actively assists marketing rentals to meet the goal, including working with various internal and external resources for potential renters, preparing promotional literature on LNC rental services,
Oversees conformance to rental policies and performs follow-up evaluations of LNC rental services with renters.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer and a telephone. Requires bending, stooping, and lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs. such as catering supplies and audio-visual equipment to prepare for events.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed in an office environment and occasionally outdoors in various locations around Lichterman. Some off-site work may be required at Memphis Museum System related facilities. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a resident of Shelby county Tennessee.
• Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license.
