The Coordinator of Clinical Research is responsible for the coordination of one or more clinical research projects and research staff (if assigned) within the Physicians Research Network. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
Two (2) years of clinical and two (2) years of research experience.
Current certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).

PREFERRED:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelors in a scientific field or higher.

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED:
In lieu of current RN license, the candidate must possess a Bachelors or higher in a scientific field.
Three (3) years of experience in clinical trials in diverse areas of research.
Ten (10) years of experience as a Clinical Researcher will be considered in lieu of SoCRA or ACRP certification.

High attention to detail demonstrated in clinical and contractual settings.

Ability to communicate complex technical material to physicians, other clinical Associates, and patients and their families both verbally and in writing.

Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own and others work flow by prioritizing projects.

Responsible for the coordination and implementation of clinical research projects/grants within the Physicians Research network.

Plans for and utilizes fiscal resources in a cost effective manner.

Directs and coordinates research activities and operations to meet departmental goals, objectives and scope of care.

Establishes, utilizes and maintains effective communication systems within the Research Network.
:
Develops and maintains quality initiatives for the Network.
:
Coordinates research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigators.
:
Analyzes data and prepares reports and presentations.
:
Performs other job functions as assigned.

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

Must have good balance and coordination.
:
The physical requirements of this position are: lightwork : exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to10 lbs. of force frequently.
:
The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients (if Registered Nurse), preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
:
If Registered Nurse : Frequent invasive and non:invasive patient contact.
:
Exposure to patient body fluids (if Registered Nurse) as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
:
Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
:
If Registered Nurse : Ability to handle and administer narcotics and investigational drugs as needed.
