Responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and controlling Soiled Linen Services. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Education/Experience/Licensure 13;

Education/Formal Training
Work Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in an institutional laundry.

Supervisory/Lead experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 13;
:Supervisory knowledge of personnel management principles commensurate with experience.
:Knowledge of laundry production and linen distribution procedures commensurate with experience.
:Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
:Basic computer skills such as e:mail and basic word processing preferred.
:Good written and verbal communication skills. 13;
Key Job Responsibilities 13;
:Plans, organizes, implements and controls Soiled Linen Services operations to meet departmental goals and objectives to ensure JCAHO and other quality and regulatory standards are met.
:Develops and implements shipping work schedules and assignments.
:Develops and implements processes through orientation, training and education.
:Promotes the flow of information by establishing, utilizing and maintaining effective communication systems.
:Supervises the gathering of production accounting data to ensure the accurate measurement of productivity in assigned department.
:Supervises and directs the workflow and production assignments to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources.
:Directs department based quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that hospital, JCAHO and other quality standards are met.
:Promotes the flow of information by establishing, utilizing and maintaining effective communications systems within and outside the department.
:Hires, develops and retains a competent, productive and quality conscious staff.
:Develops and implements processes through orientation, training and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment. 13;
Physical Requirements 13;
:The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
:Must have good balance and coordination.
:The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work : exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
:The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
:The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
